K-12 Programs
Engaging students and teachers—and as many parents as possible—facilitators deliver programming in the classroom and through visits to Peace Learning Center. Sessions are designed to meet the needs of young people and their schools. In addition, ACT Out Theatre holds student assemblies and family nights. Curriculum includes cooperative problem solving, character values, diversity appreciation, and service learning.

PEACE SCHOOL PROGRAM
Peace Learning Center provides Peace School Programs within local schools to foster an integrated approach to peacebuilding and conflict resolution. We seek schools that would like to partner with us to devote school time to programming that strengthens student, faculty and administrative relationships while improving learning.
The Peace School Program can be offered in K-5, K-6, K-8, middle and high school environments. Peace School efforts engage youth, staff and parents in creating a culture of peace and support within the school community. Outcomes center around improved emotional management, nonviolent communication skills and critical conflict resolution abilities.
peace crew program
Peace Learning Center offers our Peace Crew intitiative to help out-of-school time programs and communities create and maintain a culture of peace. We partner with organizations that want to devote out-of-school time to engaging activities that strengthen relationships while enriching programs.
The Peace Crew Program can be offered to all youth, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, and is targeted to meet both developmental needs of youth participants and community needs of organizations. Through the fundamental activities and additional enrichment activities, out-of-school programs can build youth’s ability to communicate in a healthy way, to contribute as positive community members, and to explore concepts like leadership, empathy, and friendship.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUTH-SERVING PROFESSIONALS
Peace Learning Center provides interactive, participant-focused workshops that build participants’ ability to effectively manage and prevent conflict when working with youth, peers or supervisors. These sessions engage adult learners, allowing them to reflect on previous experiences, gain critical skills and root themselves in relevant research and theory, ultimately leading to a conflict-ready approach.
