Primary Function/Purpose

Coordinate the projects of PLC’s IT contractors and utilize PLC’s digital platforms, including the website, social media accounts, email and other dissemination tools to publish and promote marketing, editorial, and fundraising content/campaigns.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

Project Coordinator (10%)

  • Regularly meet with external technology and marketing partners.
  • Ensure effective use of billable hours and an end-product that aligns with Peace Learning Center’s internal goals and brand identity.
  • As needed, convene staff members to gather input or information that can be used to generate content, draft external communications, and continually improve brand strategy.

Marketing (55%)

Brand Management

  • Lead efforts to maintain a timely and cohesive brand identity, including but not limited to researching current trends, regularly assessing brand reach, and executing refresh or rebranding projects as appropriate
  • Across all platforms, develop effective marketing and communications strategies that provide partners and donors with a cohesive and engaging online experience
  • Maintain an internal content calendar and content management system
  • In collaboration with Program staff, create or revise brand-aligned program and marketing materials that drive continued interest in Peace Learning Center’s programs


  • Produce email campaigns and digital newsletters that incorporate content from internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage the review, testing, and sending of mass mailing campaigns


  • Develop website content to support organizational goals and strategies
  • Ensure the website complies with the appropriate laws and regulations
  • Identify ways to improve website user experience
  • Maintain the website calendar and associated online registration portals
  • Manage SEO optimization efforts across all web pages

Social Media

  • Generate, edit, publish, and regularly share engaging content that aligns with Peace Learning Center’s current values and operational priorities across all social channels
  • Continuously collect and review engagement data to create differentiated content appropriate for a variety of audience segments across each of PLC’s social channels
  • Regularly seek out and engage with social media accounts that represent major foundations, corporate donors, potential partner organizations, and key community members
  • Reply to or pass along messages/comments received on PLC’s social media accounts

General Communications (15%)

  • Assist Program Support Staff and Directors of Learning in drafting external communications, particularly regarding sensitive situations or current events
  • As appropriate, help staff prepare for interviews with news affiliates
  • Under the direction of the Director of Engagement and Director of Development, produce engaging, informational, and persuasive web content that drives interest in fundraising and volunteer opportunities
  • Coordinate with regional news affiliates, information aggregates, and other free or affordable sources to push information about upcoming community events and programs

Google Workspace Administrator (10% 0r 2.5 hours/week)

  • Oversee on-boarding and off-boarding of employee accounts
  • In collaboration with key staff, organize and maintain the organization of work-related files on Google Workspace Share Drives
  • Create, maintain, and update brand-aligned templates for a variety of purposes across the Google suite of programs and apps
  • Assist in account recovery
  • Investigate security concerns or misuse of Google Workspace programs and apps

Accessibility (10%)

  • Support staff efforts to create digital and physical program and marketing materials that align with ADA and WCAG guidelines
  • Ensure staff can access and effectively use digital tools by offering technology-focused internal professional development opportunities
  • Coordinate efforts between internal team members and external partners to translate key program and marketing materials into foreign languages

Specific Job Requirements

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or 3-7 years of work experience with nonprofit administration, grant writing, or communications);
  • 1+ years of experience in communications management;
  • Experience publishing content on WordPress, Squarespace, or other CMS.
  • Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines;
  • Knowledge of best practices for writing and publishing on different platforms (especially Facebook and Instagram);
  • Must be a strong communicator and have excellent written, presentation, oral communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker with good judgment and ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment;
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to manage time, deliverables and meet deadlines;
  • Software Skills Desired – WordPress; SquareSpace; MailChimp or similar email service provider; Donor Perfect; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Publisher;
  • Attends training for continuous development of new knowledge and improvement;
  • Model and maintain PLC values, relationships, equitable practices, antiracism, inclusiveness, learning, sustainability, and accountability;
  • Participate in ongoing practices and procedures to interrupt institutional oppression on all levels (ideological, institutional, interpersonal, and internalized), as is an enactment of PLC mission/vision and values;
  • High comfort level working in a wide range of environments;
