Job Title:             Grants & Communications Manager

Status:                  Full TimeExempt

Reports To:         Associate Director, Executive Director

Primary Function/Purpose:

Develop and implement strategies to increase unrestricted dollars for operational and program support and provide external and internal communications.

Assists with development including grants, by researching, evaluating programs, developing, and implementing marketing, public relations, communications, and social media.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage PR to support organizational objectives
  • Researches funding possibilities through grants
  • Write and manage grants, submit narratives, financial reports, etc.
  • Writes monthly newsletter
  • Oversees social media
  • Serves as Web Master to maintain website presence and create content
  • Manages public relations, press releases, etc.
  • Coordinates marketing efforts
  • Oversees creation of annual report
  • Gives input and edits funding proposals
  • Work with program directors for information
  • Works with Associate Director/Finance in creating annual budget
  • Prepares monthly board report
  • Attends board and committee meetings as requested/assigned
  • Attends trainings/professional development as required and/or requested

  • Regular access to a vehicle is required
  • Some evening and weekend work
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must have basic knowledge of office equipment
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs


Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or two to four years of experience in grants management, public relations, and/or marketing. Post-graduate education in development and fundraising is a plus.   Knowledge of fundraising, public relations, marketing, and strategic planning strategies. Experience in non-profit fiscal management and community relations. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
