The Peace Learning Center’s programs are often built into a regular school day, and we find parents aren’t always aware that we have worked with their children. While teachers report great success in the classroom from our programs, we also want to get parents involved so that success extends into the home.

We offer a series of workshops for parents and guardians that aims to help “increase the peace” and combat conflict within families. These workshops are conveniently offered outside of school hours, and many workshop participants report a significant improvement in communication within their family.

The center also hosts summer programs, including our Peacebuilders Camp, which is offered as a day trip in conjunction with other summer camps, including Indy Parks & Recreation. Parents can enroll their children directly in our Climate and Social Justice camps, which are popular with students who are looking to impact the world around them.
