What changes can I expect?

At Peace Learning Center, we don’t believe in throwing away a good thing! So you won’t see us abandoning the Agreements or the focus on inclusion, influence, and community.

However, course and training participants can expect…

Do these changes mean previous training or current editions of Tribes’ books are now irrelevant?

Absolutely not! The foundations of the Peace Learning Circles process are still rooted in the decades of work poured into Tribes by Jeanne Gibbs and many, many dedicated Tribes trainers and educators. Our facilitators and research partners are working to intentionally breathe new life into the process in a way that aligns with both the heart of Tribes and the needs of today’s youth.

When is the next Train the Trainer course?

The team at Peace Learning Center is small but mighty! We’re working to train more facilitators so that we can accommodate the demand for Train the Trainer courses beginning in Spring 2022. (We’re also dreaming about the day we can safely offer in-person summer institutes and regional gatherings!)

How do I schedule private training for my group of 10+?

We’re already scheduling courses through next spring. If you’d like to arrange a basic implementation training for your school or out-of-school time program, please fill out the form embedded below.

At this time, we’re offering private basic implementation courses via Zoom. Interested schools or organizations with at least 10 participants may use the inquiry form below to begin the scheduling process.

Extend your trainer certification for free!

If you’re a recently lapsed or soon-to-lapse Trainer, you can continue to offer regional training opportunities by applying for a temporary recertification agreement. We hope that this no-cost option for extending or temporarily renewing training certifications will minimize disruptions to school and community organization training plans.
